Hugenottenturm, Observation tower in Bad Karlshafen, Germany.
The Hugenottenturm rises from the landscape as a round sandstone structure with an attached building, providing views over the Weser River and surrounding region.
Built in 1913 by Johann Josef Davin, whose Huguenot ancestors fled religious persecution in France, the tower stands as a symbol of gratitude for their new home.
The tower represents the integration of French Protestant refugees into German society, marking Bad Karlshafen's establishment as a Huguenot settlement in 1699.
Visitors can access the tower throughout the day by crossing the Diemel River bridge from the city center and following the uphill path to reach the entrance.
The circular design of the tower includes a terrace that offers panoramic views across multiple German states, stretching from Hesse to Lower Saxony.
