Hugenottenturm, Observation tower in Bad Karlshafen, Germany.

The Hugenottenturm is a round sandstone structure with an attached building that rises from the landscape. From the top, you can see across the Weser River and the surrounding countryside.

The tower was built in 1913 by Johann Josef Davin, whose ancestors fled France as religious refugees. It marks the city's gratitude for the French Protestants who founded Bad Karlshafen in 1699.

The tower commemorates French Protestants who settled here and shaped the city's identity. Local street names and traditions still reflect the French community that made this place their home.

The tower is accessible during the day when you cross the bridge over the Diemel River from the city center and walk uphill to reach it. The climb offers a pleasant walk with gradually improving views of the surroundings.

On clear days, the terrace offers views that stretch across multiple German states, from the Hesse region down to Lower Saxony. This wide-reaching perspective makes the spot special for anyone seeking distant views of the landscape.
