Viererspitze, Mountain peak in Bavaria, Germany
Viererspitze is a mountain summit in the Karwendel range standing at 2054 meters, with steep slopes dropping away on all sides from its central position. The peak sits between Mittenwald and the main Karwendel massif, forming a distinctive landmark in the local alpine landscape.
The first recorded ascent took place in the late 1800s and marked the start of regular mountaineering on the peak. Since then, it has become a well-known climbing destination in the Bavarian Alps.
The summit gets its name from a natural rock formation on the northwest face that resembles the number four. This distinctive shape is visible from many angles and has become part of how local climbers and hikers identify the mountain.
The mountain is reached from Mittenwald, a town with regular train connections to Munich and Innsbruck. Parking is available near the Karwendelbahn station, where several routes to the summit begin.
Three different climbing routes lead to the summit: Dammkar, Vordere Kreuzklamm, and the Karwendelbahn route. Each path offers different levels of difficulty and scenery for various skill levels.
