Schloss Aufhausen

Schloss Aufhausen is a three-story building with a mansard roof and rectangular farm structures positioned to the northwest of the main block. The carefully arranged outbuildings reflect how castle estates were organized for both residence and agricultural purposes.

The estate traces its origins to around 900, though it received its current baroque character during major renovations in the 1820s. These modifications transformed it from a medieval structure into the appearance it has today.

The chapel shows how faith and architecture were connected in 18th century Bavaria. You can still see how this space was used for private prayer and worship.

The property is located between Munich Airport and Bavaria's capital city with convenient rail access via the S-Bahn network. Plan for a walk from the nearest station and allow time for getting oriented when you arrive.

During the 18th century, the estate passed through the hands of several prominent families including the Preysing, Fugger, and Eisenreich, as well as Baron von Egloff. This changing ownership reveals the complex networks and shifting alliances among Bavaria's nobility during that period.
