Schloss Wiehe is a Renaissance castle built in the 17th century, located in the Unstrut valley at the northern slope of Hohe Schrecke. The estate features a tree-lined driveway and landscaped park grounds that frame the main structure.
Wolf Adolph von Werthern commissioned this Renaissance structure between 1664 and 1666, replacing a medieval fortress that previously occupied the site. This transformation reflected the shift from military fortification to an aristocratic residence.
The castle serves as a venue for local events, seminars, and celebrations in the Kyffhäuserkreis region. It remains woven into the community's social life and gatherings.
