The castle features a long, single-story baroque structure with two corner towers and a prominent portal adorned with architectural details.

Built before 1264 for the Lords of Wiesental, the castle experienced partial destruction in 1630 during the Thirty Years' War before reconstruction in 1695.

The Hudetz Tower contains a museum displaying works by painter Karl Anton Hudetz, connecting the castle to regional artistic heritage.
