Wielandgut Oßmannstedt

The Wielandgut estate encompasses residential quarters, agricultural buildings, and a landscaped park with terraces and water features across six hectares of land.

Christoph Martin Wieland purchased this estate in 1797 for 22,000 Taler, originally constructed in 1762 by Imperial Count Heinrich von Bünau.

The estate houses a multimedia museum displaying Wieland's furniture, sculptures, paintings, graphics, and books, presenting his literary contributions to German culture.

While the estate park remains open year-round without admission fees, the main building operates on specific schedules with variable entrance costs.

The fountain house contains a large water basin and a baroque grotto decorated with a dolphin-shaped gargoyle surrounded by traditional flower arrangements.
