Hohenbodmaner Linde

The Hohenbodmaner Linde is a linden tree with substantial dimensions, featuring a trunk circumference of roughly 10 meters and reaching a height of about 11 meters. The tree stands protected as a natural monument and ranks among the largest in the region.

The tree was first documented in 1859 when Württemberg naturalists recorded its measurements and age. Since that initial survey, it has been continuously monitored and remains protected today.

The tree carries a name linked to the historic settlement of Hohenbodman, and visitors can see the commemorative plaque honoring its regional importance. Local people connect the location with stories of gatherings and ceremonies that took place beneath its branches over the centuries.
