Hohenbodmaner Linde, Natural monument in Hohenbodman, Germany

The summer lime tree reaches 11 meters in height with a trunk circumference of 9.87 meters, making it among the largest trees in Germany.

According to records from 1859, the Württemberg Association for Patriotic Natural Science documented the tree with a trunk diameter of approximately 10 feet.

The tree holds deep meaning in Germanic traditions, with a commemorative plaque designating it as a symbol of fertility and relationships.

Regular maintenance occurs every seven to ten years to ensure the structural integrity and safety of this protected natural monument.

The tree has survived substantial root damage from infrastructure work in 1964 and 1975, retaining 60 percent of its original root system.
