St. Pankratius

St. Pankratius features a three-nave basilica design with a transept, high western tower, and detailed brick construction throughout the exterior walls.

The first church in Glehn received papal documentation in 1246, while the current building was constructed between 1868 and 1872 by architect Heinrich Nagelschmidt.

The church contains a Romanesque baptismal font from the 12th century and a Madonna statue that became a pilgrimage destination in 1651.

The church houses five bronze bells and an organ with 31 registers, which underwent extensive restoration work in 1994 to maintain its functionality.

During World War II, all but one of the church bells were requisitioned for war purposes, but the congregation later recovered them all.
