Wasserburg Haus Glehn, Renaissance water castle in Glehn, Germany
The three-story brick castle features a round tower with an onion dome in the northeast corner and a stair tower with a flat dome roof.
Built in 1560 by Dietrich Fleck von der Balen, the castle received its alternative name Fleckenhaus after its reconstruction following a fire in medieval times.
The architectural elements reflect the Dutch Renaissance style, with large windows, friezes, and decorative arrow slits that served no defensive purpose.
The castle grounds include a gatehouse and farm buildings connected by passages built in 1912, currently operating as both a residential property and agricultural facility.
The entire complex remains surrounded by a moat system, which was added to the monument list on March 5, 1987, emphasizing its historical defensive significance.
