Seven red brick buildings form a complex with two courtyards, featuring decorative elements and a central fountain with a boy and fish statue.
The site previously contained a medieval tower castle that formed part of Flensburg's city fortifications and housed important administrative officials.
The buildings, designed by architect Paul Ziegler in 1909, incorporate local architectural traditions with residential elements in the Heimat style.
The complex contains more than 60 apartments accessible through gates at Toosbüystraße 11 and Marienstraße 22, near Flensburg's pedestrian zone.
Two courtyards within the complex are paved with cobblestones, replicating the layout of traditional German castles with their forecourt arrangements.
