Stadionsches Schloss, Late Baroque palace in Bönnigheim, Germany.

Stadionsches Schloss is a two-story building with a mansard roof and central projection, showing French Baroque style with Rococo decorations. The facade is balanced and features carefully designed windows and ornamental details that reflect the wealth and status of its original owner.

The palace was built in 1756 by Count Friedrich von Stadion, who served as Minister to the Archbishop of Mainz. It replaced an older fortification called Liebenstein Castle, which had stood on the same site since 1560.

The name comes from the von Stadion family, who built the palace and made it their residence. Visitors can admire the elaborate stucco work inside, created by students of Johann Peter Jäger, the court plasterer of Mainz.

The palace courtyard serves as a venue for concerts, readings, weddings, film screenings, and Christmas markets throughout the year. Check ahead to see what events are scheduled, as these activities determine when the grounds are accessible to visitors.

The banquet hall was originally decorated with precious leather wallpaper that remained in place until 1931. This unusual material was later removed and is now on display at Ludwigsburg Residential Palace.
