Burg Markt

Burg Markt is a castle on a hilltop in Biberbach with a white tower that rises through eight levels and dominates the surrounding landscape. The western section of the complex functions today as an equestrian center, blending its historical structure with modern facilities.

The castle's construction began in the 14th century by the Rechberger family and was acquired around 1508 by Jakob Fugger, who transformed it into a grand residence. Fugger's redesign shaped the complex's appearance and importance for centuries to come.

The Chapel of St. John the Baptist features Baroque decorative elements inside and was rebuilt in the 1730s. It remains a quiet space that shows how the castle's residents practiced their faith.
