H8

H8 is an eight-story residential building in Bad Aibling made almost entirely of wood, with solid timber used for both structural and interior walls throughout. The structure contains nine residential units mixed with office spaces, all constructed from prefabricated wooden components assembled on site.

The building was completed in 2011 and represented Germany's first eight-story timber high-rise to be constructed. This project marked a turning point, demonstrating that wood could be used for large residential structures in urban settings.

The building reflects German architecture's shift toward sustainable materials, setting new standards for timber construction in urban development projects.
