Built in 1938 as a training facility for military personnel, the pool complex served as Europe's largest indoor swimming facility at that time.

The facility offers dedicated lanes for athletes, separate changing areas with individual cabins, and accessibility features including a water lift for mobility assistance.
The building received architectural heritage monument status in 2001 and underwent extensive renovation between 2008 and 2014 to preserve its historical elements.
