Gesamtanlage Friedrichshütte, Cultural heritage monument in Ruppertsburg, Germany
Located in the Horloff River valley near the Vogelsberg Nature Park, Friedrichshütte consists of multiple industrial buildings, including a classical manor house from 1808.
Count Friedrich Ernst zu Solms-Laubach established this ironworks in 1707, which later became part of the Buderus industrial empire through a lease agreement in 1731.
The foundry complex represents a key industrial development site in central Hesse, with its preserved buildings documenting three centuries of German metallurgical evolution.
The industrial site remains operational as part of the Roemheld Group, manufacturing cast products using modern induction furnace technology and computerized design processes.
The facility maintains its original water supply system from 1904, initially created to support wood carbonization plants in the region.
