Schloss Hue de Grais, Manor estate in Wolkramshausen, Germany.
Schloss Hue de Grais is a two-story manor with half-timbered architecture arranged around three sides of a courtyard in Wolkramshausen. The complex includes agricultural outbuildings and a library extension that form a cohesive estate structure.
The manor was built around 1680 and underwent major transformation from 1720 to 1722 under Walrad Ludwig von Wilcke. During this renovation, older foundation walls were incorporated into the new design.
The painted canvas walls inside show landscapes and maritime scenes created by Dresden court artists in the 18th century. These decorated surfaces still define how the rooms look today and reflect the artistic traditions of the region.
The manor is located at Hauptstraße 29 in Wolkramshausen and is easy to reach from the main road. Visitors should check which areas are accessible and what conditions apply for viewing the interior.
A baroque library addition from 1764 complements the manor, decorated with classical mythology motifs on its walls. This space was designed specifically for scholarly study and knowledge collection.
