Built between 1914 and 1915 to plans by Fritz Schumacher, the Trinkhalle originally offered fountain cures to people who could not afford a spa visit. Visitors could choose from 50 medicinal waters, with designated walking paths in the Stadtpark. It later served as a senior meeting place and, after conversion, has been used as a cafe since spring 2013.

The name refers to its original purpose as a water dispensary, a function still echoed in how the building presents itself to visitors. Today it serves as a gathering place where people connect over food and drinks rooted in local food traditions.

The establishment sits within walking distance of Borgweg subway station, making it easy to reach by public transport. It operates from Thursday to Sunday and provides seating both inside and outside, so you can choose based on the weather.

The venue hosts seasonal events such as wine tastings and indoor Christmas markets that bring extra cultural life to the park. It also functions as a rental space for private celebrations and weddings, giving it a double role as both a public gathering spot and a private event venue.
