Rittergut Bockerode, Manor estate in Springe, Germany
The estate features a two-story timber-framed mansion with six window axes and a half-hipped roof, surrounded by farming buildings and gardens.
The estate originated from a manor called 'tom Rode' in 1448, granted by the Duchy of Brunswick-Lüneburg to the Lords of Frencke.
The current mansion, constructed in 1736 on foundations of a former castle, represents traditional German architectural designs of Lower Saxony.
The agricultural complex continues to function as a farm, producing sugar beets, wheat, barley, potatoes, and corn in the Calenberg region.
The estate hosts PotatoEurope, an international agricultural exhibition, featuring agricultural technology and crop innovations every four years.
