Ballhaus Tiergarten

Ballhaus Tiergarten is a heritage monument in Berlin-Mitte built from yellow and red brick with distinctive arched windows throughout its facade. Two lower side wings styled after Italian villas complete the structure and frame the main building.

The building was constructed between 1879 and 1880 under architect Otto Heimerdinger as an officers' casino for the 1st Guard Field Artillery Regiment. It served as a social gathering place for military personnel stationed in Berlin.

The name refers to the ballrooms that once hosted events here, and these spaces still shape the character of the interior today. The rooms display elegant details from that era, even though they now serve different purposes.

The building stands at Perleberger Strasse 62 in Berlin and currently houses the Embassy of Uzbekistan. Musical events and concerts are held regularly, making it a place where architecture and culture intersect.

The main reception hall's ceiling was carefully restored using preserved fragments after removing a temporary covering installed in the 1930s. This meticulous reconstruction reveals how parts of the original design survived and were brought back to life.
