Kulturfabrik Moabit

Kulturfabrik Moabit is a former industrial building that now serves as a cultural center with a cinema, theater, and concert hall. The space houses several independent clubs and artistic groups that organize diverse performances and creative events throughout the year.

The building was constructed in 1911 as a meat and biscuit factory and stood vacant for many years after 1976. Its location near the Berlin Wall during the division made the area undesirable until artists and activists revived it after 1991.

Artists and students established multiple nonprofit groups and projects that fill the space with creative activity every day. These communities run their own venues including the Filmrauschpalast cinema and the Slaughterhouse concert space, shaping how the place is used and experienced.
