Kaifu-Bad, Public bathing establishment in Hamburg, Germany

Kaifu-Bad is a swimming complex in Hamburg featuring both indoor and outdoor pools along with a modern wellness and sauna area. The facility includes various pool sections designed for different purposes, serving both athletes and recreational swimmers.

The indoor hall was built between 1893 and 1895 as Stadtbad Hohe Weide, designed by Franz Andreas Meyer, chief engineer of the building commission. In 1905/06 his successor Franz Eduard Vermehren added a second hall for women. The outdoor pool, designed by Konstanty Gutschow, opened in 1938. A 2015 renovation added a sauna area and a 6% salt brine pool.

The facility reflects German swimming traditions where sports facilities and relaxation areas hold equal importance. Visitors use the complex year-round for both training and leisure purposes.

The complex offers different pools with varying water temperatures for different activities. Visitors should be aware that opening times can vary by season and special events.

The 120-metre row of buildings north of the pools, now housing a rehabilitation clinic, once held the changing rooms and showers of the open-air baths. The original main entrance to the outdoor area stood at the northern end of this row, by the Bundesstraße.
