St. Achaz, Parish church in Mittersendling, Germany
The church features a wooden barrel vault divided by belt arches, with a 42.5-meter tower marking its presence in the Munich district.
The original Gothic structure from 1315 was replaced in 1927 by architect Richard Steidle's neobaroque design to accommodate the growing population.
St. Achaz maintains several baroque altar paintings, including the high altar depicting Saint Achilles of Armenia in military attire with angelic elements.
The current building provides space for 400 seated and 1200 standing visitors, with regular religious services and opportunities for architectural observation.
The church houses a 21-register organ constructed by Dieter Schingnitz in 1995, using pipes made from specific combinations of Zinn and lead materials.
