Kastanienallee 77, Revenue house and architectural heritage monument in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin, Germany
The building at Kastanienallee 77 exhibits ornate decorations, including rosettes beneath window canopies, curved keystones, and two craft sculptures on its facade.
In 1937, the property belonged to a Jewish family, and after standing empty since 1986, artists occupied it in 1992 under the name Vereinigte Varben Wawavox.
The Lichtblick-Kino cinema operates in the front building, while dance studios, comic artist ateliers, and ceramics workshops fill the second rear house.
The building underwent renovation between 1995 and 1999, preserving its original layout and restoring decorative elements with funding from the state of Berlin.
Twenty adults and ten children live in this collective housing arrangement, following commune principles established during the project's early years.
