Kobersfelsen, Protected area in Burgk, Germany.
The protected area spans 422 hectares, featuring steep wooded slopes and silicate rocks with specialized vegetation growing in crevices and niches.
The nature reserve received its protected status in September 1989 through a resolution by the Gera District Council in Thuringia.
Local tales connect the name of the rock formation to Elisabeth, daughter of the Lord of Burgk, and her unfulfilled love for Knight Kober.
The suspension bridge near the rock formation, which provided direct access to the waterside, remains closed since 2021 due to rockfall incidents.
The area contains natural eutrophic lakes, streams from lowland to mountainous regions, and supports protected species like Myotis myotis and Triturus cristatus.
