Filmmuseum Bendestorf

Filmmuseum Bendestorf displays equipment and materials from Germany's post-war film industry. On view are cameras, editing tables, original props, costumes, film posters, and scripts that document how productions were made.

The film studio was founded in 1947 and grew into West Germany's largest post-war production facility. It played an important role in reviving German film production in the decades that followed.

This place preserves memories of Germany's thriving post-war film production era. Visitors can see how films were made back then, from costumes to the handwritten script notes left by directors.

The museum preserves around a hundred feature films from the period between 1947 and 2005, including works with well-known international actors. A special highlight is a three-dimensional hologram installation of German actress Hildegard Knef in the exhibition area.
