Gut Diekhof, Manor house in Diekhof, Germany.
Gut Diekhof is a three-winged baroque estate in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with a manor house, chapel, tea house, and stables across the grounds. The complex consists of interconnected buildings set within landscaped surroundings that form a unified composition.
The estate was founded in 1739 and passed through the hands of several noble families including von Voß, von Hahn, the Counts of Wallmoden, and von Bassewitz. Major fire damage in 1945 significantly altered its original form.
The Rococo chapel built in 1768 reflects how local nobility expressed their faith through refined architectural choices. Visitors can observe the intimate prayer space and understand how private worship happened within the estate.
The estate sits on local roads connecting to Güstrow with access to the A19 autobahn via the Glasewitz exit. Plan to spend enough time exploring the different buildings and garden areas throughout the grounds.
The side wings and chapel retained their original baroque features despite the destruction of the main manor building. These surviving structures offer visitors a window into how the entire complex once appeared.
