Metropolis Kino

Metropolis Kino features a single screen with 270 seats, presenting classic films, independent productions, and international cinema behind a modern office building facade.

After operating in different locations since 1979, the theater moved to Kleine Theaterstrasse 10 in 2011, maintaining its dedication to cinematic preservation.

The cinema partners with Deutsche Kinemathek to organize retrospectives, themed series, and educational workshops that encourage critical discussions about film and media.

Located next to Hamburg State Opera, the theater provides wheelchair accessibility and maintains an online platform for ticket purchases and program information.

The facility houses an archive containing over 5,000 analog films in 35mm and 16mm formats, plus an extensive collection of videos and digital media.
