St. Lambert, Baroque church in Teunz, Germany.
St. Lambert is a baroque church in Teunz with a tall tower on its northern side, designed by Leo von Klenze in classical Greek style. The brick building functions as a single-nave structure with a capacity of around 400 seats for worship.
The original structure dates to around 1100 during the Salian period, with the oldest masonry still visible in the rear section of the building today. A baroque high altar from Neukirchen bei Heilig Blut was added in 1723.
The interior displays baroque artistic elements, including apostle sculptures in the nave and rococo carvings decorating the confessionals and choir benches.
The church is open for services and visits throughout the week and weekends, with a patron saint celebration held on September 18. Visitors should be prepared for uneven ground and limited parking near the building.
The church contains hidden medieval masonry beneath its later baroque additions, preserving layers of construction from different centuries. These concealed older sections remind visitors that the building evolved gradually over many generations.
