Pfarrkirche St. Maria

Pfarrkirche St. Maria is a church in Isny im Allgäu with three naves, detailed cross-ribbed vaults, and a polygonal choir. The distinctive tower with a pyramid roof sits on the choir side and is flanked by the side aisles.

The church was built after 1803, when the population in Isny changed fundamentally and Catholic residents moved into the previously Protestant imperial city. It served as a place of worship for this new community.

The church displays a blend of Gothic and Romanesque elements visible in the round arches between columns and detailed ceiling vaults. Visitors experience a distinctive mix of styles that shapes how the interior space feels.

Originally five bells hung in the church, but four were removed during World War I for military production. Today only the largest bell rings through the building.
