Memorial to the first homosexual emancipation movement, Commemorative sculpture at Magnus-Hirschfeld-Ufer, Berlin, Germany

The memorial consists of six enlarged calla lily flowers in rainbow colors, reaching over four meters in height and made of metal materials.

Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld established the Scientific-Humanitarian Committee in 1897, marking the start of the first homosexual rights movement in world history.

The installation represents sexual diversity through calla lilies, which naturally contain both male and female flowers on a single plant.

Located between Luther Bridge and Moltke Bridge, visitors can walk among the metal flowers spread across a 350 by 550 centimeter area.

The memorial stands near the former location of the Institute for Sexual Research, which operated from 1919 until its destruction by Nazi forces in 1933.
