Olympiastützpunkt Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein, Olympic training center in Dulsberg, Hamburg and Ratzeburg, Germany
The Olympic Training Center Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein is a training facility for developing and elite athletes spread across multiple locations. Besides the main complex in Hamburg, additional centers in Kiel and Ratzeburg are specifically designed for water sports athletes.
Established in 1988, this center is one of 18 training hubs across Germany created to prepare national athletes for international competitions. Its founding reflected Germany's commitment to systematic athlete development at the federal level.
This place brings together elite athletes from numerous disciplines who work daily toward competition goals. The presence of intensely trained competitors shapes the environment and creates a focused culture centered on athletic excellence.
The center offers training facilities, sports medicine, physiotherapy, and psychological support for athletes. Visitors should contact ahead as the facility is primarily intended for national-level competitors and general access may be restricted.
An Elite Sports School called Alter Teichweg has been connected to the center since 2006, allowing students to pursue high-performance athletics and academic education simultaneously. This integrated model combines classroom learning with intense athlete training in one location.
