Built between 1907 and 1908 for shoe polish manufacturer Otto Lemm, the villa served as the residence of British Sector Commanders in Berlin from 1945 to 1990.
During the ownership of Dr. János Plesch, the villa became a meeting point for intellectuals, hosting guests including Albert Einstein and Marlene Dietrich.
The property includes multiple facilities within its grounds, such as a palm house, a boat house, and a tennis court integrated into the neo-renaissance garden design.
Queen Elizabeth II selected this villa as her residence during her visits to Berlin in 1965, 1978, and 1987.
