Keramische Werkstatt am Bauhaus

The Keramische Werkstatt am Bauhaus is a museum in a historic stable building on Dornburg Castle that displays two original workshop spaces from the 1920s. Both rooms contain historical potter's wheels and clay preparation equipment that were used for production.

An art school founded a ceramics workshop here in 1920 as part of its program, with a renowned master potter teaching students in traditional methods. The operation developed into an important production center before it was later shut down.

The workshop carries the name of the art school that operated here in the 1920s and shows how ceramicists worked back then. Visitors can see the workspaces today and understand which techniques the craftspeople used.

The museum is open during warmer months from April through October, with extended hours on weekdays and weekends. In colder months the opening hours are shorter, so advance planning makes sense for your visit.
