Dokumentationsstätte Gelsenkirchen im Nationalsozialismus

The Documentation Center exhibits numerous photographs, documents, and multimedia installations depicting local experiences during the Nazi regime in Gelsenkirchen.

The museum building, constructed in 1907, served as a local NSDAP headquarters in Buer-Erle during the Third Reich period.

The permanent exhibition spans seven rooms, presenting detailed narratives of resistance, persecution, and daily life in Gelsenkirchen between 1933 and 1945.

Located at Cranger Strasse 323, the museum opens Tuesday and Friday from 10:00 to 17:00, Wednesday from 10:00 to 18:00, with free admission.

The museum contains an extensive archive of local testimonies and documents that reveal individual perspectives of citizens during the Nazi period.
