St. Johannis

The church building features a late Romanesque construction with fieldstone walls, a western tower, a single-nave layout, and a square choir with round apse.

The church structure gained its current form during the early Gothic period, with the tower constructed using Gommernsche rubble stones from the local region.

The Gothic baptismal font, crafted from sandstone in the 14th century, displays eight high reliefs depicting scenes from Jesus's childhood and baptism.

The church clock, installed in 1906 by J.F. Weule company, received a modern two-tangent pendulum damper in 2020 to improve timekeeping precision.

The wooden horseshoe gallery from the 1860s spans the interior space beneath a flat ceiling, complementing the longitudinal hall design.
