Originally constructed in 1972 as the headquarters for the Medical Office of the Federal Armed Forces, the building remained vacant after their departure in 2002.
The structure represents the architectural transformation of Bonn during the 1970s when the city expanded its urban infrastructure as the capital of West Germany.
Following extensive renovations completed in 2020, the building now houses 237 apartments designed for students and senior residents seeking accommodation in Bonn.
The renovation project added two additional floors to the original structure and replaced the brown exterior with a lighter facade to modernize its appearance.
