Hansastadion, Motorsport stadium in Kattenturm, Bremen, Germany.
Hansastadion is a former racing stadium in Bremen with a sand track designed for speedway competitions. The facility featured grandstand seating for thousands of spectators and hosted various motorsport events over its operating years.
The stadium opened in 1953 on the grounds of a former brick factory and was funded entirely through private investment. Over the following decades, it became an established racing center in northern Europe.
For decades, this venue served as a gathering place for motorsport fans from across the region who came to watch the fast-paced racing action. The events drew people who shared a passion for the sport and returned regularly to experience the competition.
The site is no longer in operation today and can be viewed from the outside, where the old structure remains visible. Visitors should note that access to the area is limited and current local conditions should be checked before visiting.
The venue was part of the founding of the German Speedway Bundesliga in 1973 and played an important role in developing this sport in Germany. The fact that the track was built on an old brick factory site gave it a special connection to the region's industrial past.
