Schlossmühlentalbrücke, Highway bridge in Kospoda, Germany

The Schlossmühlentalbrücke is a 360-metre bridge on the Bundesstraße 281, part of the Neustadt an der Orla bypass. It has a parallel-chord superstructure and U-shaped individual piers. It crosses the Kospodaer Weg, the renaturalised Kospodaer Gamse and the Kreisstraße 211, which leads from Neustadt to Kospoda.

Construction of the Schlossmühlentalbrücke began in December 1996 and was completed in June 1998. It opened to traffic on 2 November 2000 together with the entire Neustadt an der Orla bypass. The client was the Free State of Thuringia, acting through the Gera road construction office.

The bridge takes its name from the Schlossmühle, a mill on the Kreisstraße 211 between Neustadt and Kospoda. Its span crosses the Kospodaer Weg, the renaturalised Kospodaer Gamse and the road to Kospoda, and it also passes over the path from Burgwitz to Arnshaugk, where a small hikers' rest area lies beside the route.

The bridge is open to traffic year-round and undergoes regular maintenance to ensure safe driving conditions. Drivers should be prepared for possible detours during maintenance work or repairs.
