Düsselbacher Hütte, Mountain hut in Hersbrucker Schweiz, Germany.
Düsselbacher Hütte is a mountain shelter in the Hersbrucker Schweiz region, situated at 359 meters elevation in the Pegnitztal valley. The facility provides dormitory-style accommodations for up to 16 guests and operates as a self-catering refuge managed by the Schwabach section of the German Alpine Club.
The building was originally a railway keeper's house and was transformed into a mountain refuge in 1985 through extensive renovation work. This conversion represented a significant community effort involving many volunteers.
The hut serves as a meeting point for hikers and climbers, where visitors gather and share experiences in a welcoming setting. People use the space to rest and enjoy the company of others who love the outdoors.
The hut is just a short walk from the Düsselbach parking area, located about 400 meters away. Access is easy on foot, and the facility welcomes guests year-round except during the Advent season.
The nearby Düsselbacher Wand is a popular climbing area with limestone routes at various difficulty levels, attracting sport climbers from across the region. Many visitors combine their hut stay with time spent exploring these rock faces.
