Wickesberger Bachtal und Seitenbäche

The Wickesberger Bachtal spans 85.5 hectares of land with spring-fed streams, wet meadows, and forests at elevations between 210 and 340 meters.

The nature reserve received its protected status in 2006, followed by the implementation of a comprehensive landscape management plan in 2013.

The area reflects traditional German nature conservation practices, demonstrating the regional commitment to preserving natural valleys in Nordrhein-Westfalen.

Visitors can observe native plant species like Glatthafer and Honiggras in the wet meadows, along with beech and oak trees in the forest sections.

The valley extends 3.7 kilometers with varying widths up to 60 meters, featuring natural creek sections and grasslands used for agricultural purposes.
