Seeckt-Kaserne, Military barracks in Celle, Germany
Seeckt-Kaserne encompasses an area of 29 hectares at the northern edge of the Hehlentor district along Hohe Wende and Sprengerstrasse streets.
The barracks, constructed between 1936 and 1939, served as a specialized facility for chemical warfare training and housed the Army Gas Protection School until 1945.
The architectural ensemble, designed by Klaus Petersen from the Army Construction Office Hannover II, combines elements of historical sovereign architecture with functional military buildings.
The facility contains multiple central parade grounds and two large open spaces that were designated for vehicle and unit formations during its operational period.
The strategic location near Munster-Nord, approximately 50 kilometers north, provided direct access to the chemical warfare testing grounds during its active military use.
