Saalenbergkapelle, Chapel in Sölden, Germany
The Saalenbergkapelle stands at 456 meters above the Hexental valley with a triple-sided choir closure and a bell tower featuring a pointed helmet.
Built in 1875 by farmer Fides Franz, who lost seven children, the chapel received a bell cast in Karlsruhe in 1899 with the inscription Consoler of the Afflicted.
The interior contains memorial plaques commemorating fallen soldiers from Sölden during both World Wars, reflecting the community's historical connection to the structure.
Located along the 75-kilometer Zähringer hiking trail, connecting Neuenburg am Rhein, Freiburg, and St. Peter, the chapel remains open to visitors throughout the year.
The chapel windows display specific religious symbols: a cross on the left side and the letters A M for Ave Maria on the right side.
