Agioi Apostoli, Sandy beach and settlement in Chania Municipality, Greece.
Agioi Apostoli is a beach area with a small settlement on the northern coast of Crete, close to the city of Chania. Four adjoining bays with fine sand and shallow water form a longer stretch of shoreline, with each section having its own character and level of facilities.
A church dedicated to the Holy Apostles gave the settlement its name and has marked this stretch of coast for generations. Over time, a small community grew around this religious landmark, shifting from simple fishing to the mixed life of fishermen and tourists seen today.
The name of the settlement comes from a small church dedicated to the Holy Apostles that stands on a hill above the bays. Small family-run tavernas line the shore and serve as natural meeting points for fishermen and beachgoers alike throughout the day.
The different bays are linked by walking paths, so it is easy to move between them without a vehicle. Showers and changing facilities are available at the beaches, and restaurants and cafes can be found within a short walk through the settlement.
Two ramp systems installed at the beach allow people with limited mobility to enter the water on their own. This type of access feature is still uncommon at Greek beaches, which makes this spot one of the few in the region where it exists.
