North Tzoumerka Municipality, Mountain municipality in Ioannina region, Greece.
North Tzoumerka spans across 358 square kilometers of terrain with valleys and hills reaching elevations between 591 and 7,894 feet in northwestern Greece.
The Tzoumerka mountains served as a strategic base for EDES resistance organization during the Axis occupation of Greece from 1941 to 1944.
The seven municipal units of North Tzoumerka maintain traditional stone architecture and regional customs from the Epirus mountains.
The municipality includes numerous marked hiking paths connecting the villages of Kalarites, Katsanochoria, Matsouki, Pramanta, Sirako, Tzoumerka, and Vathypedo.
The population density of North Tzoumerka stands at 14 people per square kilometer, making it one of the least populated municipalities in the Epirus region.
