Reims-Gueux, Motor racing circuit in Gueux, France
Reims-Gueux is a former racing circuit that winds through the countryside west of Reims using existing departmental roads and a section of National Road 31, now protected as a historical monument. The track featured long straight sections and challenging turns that made it one of France's most demanding racing venues.
The site emerged in the 1920s as one of France's first racing venues to use public roads, quickly gaining international status. It hosted fourteen Formula 1 French Grand Prix races between 1950 and 1966 before financial troubles led to its permanent closure in 1972.
The Friends of Circuit de Gueux association maintains the historical structures and preserves the legacy of this former high-speed racing venue.
Visitors can walk along the original track layout and view the remaining grandstands and pit buildings that are now protected monuments. Access is available by car through the local roads that once formed the racing course itself.
The circuit featured three long straight sections and multiple turns, enabling vehicles to reach speeds of 200 kilometers per hour during racing events.
