Allianz Riviera, Football stadium in Saint-Isidore, Nice, France.
Allianz Riviera is a football stadium in the Saint-Isidore area of Nice, designed with an oval structure and a curved roof supported by steel arches. The venue seats more than thirty-six thousand people and features viewing areas arranged around all four sides of the pitch.
Construction began in August 2011 and was completed just over two years later, when the stadium opened on September 22, 2013, with a match between OGC Nice and Valenciennes. The project emerged from a need for a larger sports facility to serve the city and its clubs.
The venue serves as the principal home ground for OGC Nice football club while hosting international matches, rugby games, and large-scale entertainment events throughout the year.
The stadium sits in the northwestern part of Nice and is accessible by public transport and several approach roads. For matches or events, arriving early is advisable as the area becomes busy before kickoff.
During international competitions such as the European Championship, the facility is referred to as Stade de Nice to comply with sponsorship regulations. This name change applies only to certain tournaments and is mandated by the organizing body.
