Abbaye Notre-Dame-de-l'Annonciation du Barroux

The Notre-Dame-de-l'Annonciation Abbey stands in Le Barroux, housing thirty nuns who dedicate their lives to prayer, work, and community activities.

Four young women established this religious community in 1979 under Elisabeth de La Londe's guidance, receiving official abbey status from the Holy See in 1992.

The nuns maintain Benedictine traditions through daily prayers, starting at 5:05 AM with Matins and ending at 8:00 PM with Compline.

Visitors can attend daily mass at 10:00 AM and purchase handmade products such as books, jams, and traditional nougat at the monastery shop.

The monastery's nuns won a global Gregorian chant competition in 2010, leading to their album release with Universal Music titled 'Voices - Chant from Avignon'.
