Orly Airport, International airport in Orly, France
Orly Airport is an international airport in Orly, located about 13 kilometers (8 miles) south of Paris, with connections to Europe, Africa and the Americas. Four terminals are linked by underground walkways and automated trains, offering shops, restaurants and waiting areas across multiple levels.
The airport opened in 1932 as Villeneuve-Orly and initially served as a complement to Le Bourget. After World War II it grew into the main Parisian airport until Charles de Gaulle took over that role.
Terminals feature rotating photography exhibitions and art installations by local French artists in public spaces. Visitors also find boutiques and restaurants serving regional specialties and products from the Île-de-France area.
Metro line 14, tram services and automated shuttles connect the terminals to central Paris and surrounding suburbs. Travelers find free Wi-Fi throughout the airport and several lounge areas with seating options.
In 2023 a greening program planted 900 trees and over 14,000 seedlings across the grounds. This vegetation is expected to capture around 329 tonnes of carbon each year and improve air quality around the terminals.
