Goya Museum, Art museum in Castres, France.
The Goya Museum occupies the former Bishop's Palace, presenting an extensive collection of Spanish art across 23 exhibition rooms covering 1500 square meters.
Established in 1840, the museum building was designed in 1675 by Jules Hardouin Mansart, the architect who created the Palace of Versailles.
The collection includes 200 paintings from Spanish masters, with notable works by Goya, Velázquez, El Greco, Zurbarán, Picasso, and Juan Gris.
Following extensive renovations, the museum reopened in April 2023 with improved accessibility and a new exhibition hall in the former Les Cèdres abbey.
The museum holds the largest collection of Spanish artworks in France, featuring complete series of Goya prints including Caprichos and Disasters of War.
