Tour Granite, Office skyscraper in La Défense, France
Tour Granite is an office tower in La Défense with a distinctive triangular shape spanning 35 floors. The structure connects to neighboring buildings through covered walkways and anchors the western side of the business district.
Construction finished in 2008 as an expansion project for Société Générale to address office space shortages. The tower grew from the company's need for additional facilities beyond their original headquarters buildings.
Christian de Portzamparc designed this building with a diahedral form, contributing to the architectural evolution of La Défense during the early 2000s.
The tower is accessible by public transportation with a metro station nearby for easy arrival. Note that this is an active business center, so access to certain areas may be restricted to employees and authorized visitors.
The facade changes appearance depending on your viewing angle, with the east and west sides clad in different materials. This dual-sided design creates an ever-shifting visual experience as you walk around the building.
